Lettered, lower center: "Launch of THE GREAT BRITAIN Steam Ship, | AT BRISTOL JULY 19TH 1843. | To His Royal Highness Prince Albert H.G. &c &c &c | under whose Auspices this Magnificent Vessel was launched and who on that occasion honoured our City with his presence | This print commemorating that interesting event is with His Royal Highnesses Gracious permission respectfully dedicated by | The Publisher"; lettered, lower right: "The weight of Iron used in the Ship and Engines | is upwards of 1500 Tons | By the action of Low-pressure steam used expansively | in 4 Cylinders of 88 inches in diameter with 6 Feet | stroke 1000 Horse Power will be applied to a | Propeller of 16 feet in diameter revolving under | the stern."
