[2] Possibly Joseph Schnell, who worked for the Austrian and French art dealer Charles Sedelmeyer. Appeared alongside Sedelmeyer at Austria's fine arts pavilion during the 1893 World's Columbian Exhibition in Chicago. Schnell sold 130 Constable "dessins" in 1922 at Hotel Drouot as one lot. [3] Because Lovell William Vicars was an art dealer, he may have been involved in his wife’s acquisition of the painting.
