Engraved inscriptions: below image, at center "THE OLD FOUNTAIN IN THE MINORIES"; below "(taken down 1793) was formerly an Inn: the dining room was curiously orna- | mented; and over the fire place was a date, within a year of 1480. The timber-works | were so firmly constructed, that Horses were employed to pull them asunder. The | court behind (now Fountain Court) was anciently called London Prentice Yard." and below "Published Aug. 10. 1798, by N. Smith, Rembrandt's Head, Gt. Mays Building St. Martins Lane, & I. T. Smith, 40, Frith St. Soho."
