This accidental circumstance, in the early invention | of Steel Mezzotinto Plates, defeated all the exertions made by the | Artists to restore them, and the work is consequently more choice | and uniform by athe above Plates being cancelled. | The Plate of Shields, on the River Tyne, in No.1. and marked | Plate I., is to be placed the last view in the work, and that of Stangate | Creek to be placed the first, according to the printed list."
