Notes:
Bound in morocco-style boards, with gilt floral borders and gilt edges.
An early 19th century sketchbook kept by an anonymous traveller to France. Consists of 26 simple graphite sketches of scenes along the River Seine, along with figural and architectural studies. Places depicted include the Tuileries Gardens, Rouen, La Bouille, Jumiegès Abbey, Caudebec, Quillebeuf, Tancarville, and Honfleur. Most of the places depicted are captioned. The sketches are in an album of multi-colored paper.
