How to chuse, ride, traine, and diet, both hunting-horses and running horses : vvith all the secrets thereto belonging discouered: An arte neuer heere-to-fore vvritten by any authour. Also a discourse of horsmanship, wherein the breeding, and ryding of horses for seruice, in a briefe manner, is more methodically sette downe, then hath been heeretofore: vvith a more easie and direct course for the ignorant, to attaine to the sayd arte or knowledge. - Anonymous. By Gervase Markham. Markham's knowledge of horses led him to be employed by James I to obtain a pure-bred Arab charger, and he is said to have been the first to import this breed into England.
An edition, enlarged, of: Markham, Gervase. A discource of horsmanshippe. Originally published in 1593 under the title "A discourse of horsemanship"; the present title was adopted in 1595 for an edition published in London by Richard Smith.
