Classification:

Notes:
Illustrates a suite of 83 etchings made by the Chapmans in 1999 that were inspired by Goya's prints of the same title. While the Chapmans relied heavily on Goya's response to the savagery of Napoleon's troops in Spain, their interpretation of his work is infused with surreal imagery and references to atrocities committed by the Nazis in the Second World War. Their versions also contain unique characteristics such as children's drawings and caricatures.
