- Hieronymus Cock's edition of 1556 was the first (despite dates of 1555 on prints I and VI). The 12 prints are preceded by Cock's added title sheet. The engravings are by D.V. Coornhert after Martin van Heemskerk. The 2nd may be by Cornelis Bosch rather than Coornhert; see Hollstein.
Beneath each print are letterpress captions in Latin, Spanish and French verse. The prints are numbered I-XII in the plate and again in letterpress in the caption.

BAC Folio A 2023 35: The volume includes two sets of the 12 prints, plus one version of the title sheet, bound in a 19th-century album (in red morocco). The two sets are juxtaposed on opposite pages. Uncolored versions with the letterpress verse are affixed to versos. Rectos bear hand-colored versions heightened with gold, the coloring attributed to Hieronymus Cook.
