"The paragraphs in the text are numbered i-lxviii. The first twenty of these paragraphs have to do with the characteristics of a good horse and with the training of horses; the rest of the work is devoted to equine medicine."--Podeschi.
A portion of the text is taken directly from Berners' Boke of St. Albans. The properties of a good horse are described with the same fifteen characteristics as taht earlier book, "thre of a manne, thre of a woman, three of an hare, three of a [fox], and three of an asse."
