Two added title pages, the first engraved t.p. with coloured vignette entitled: 'A brief history of ancient and modern India, from the earliest periods of antiquity to the termination of the late Mahratta war. Embellished with colored engravings from Richard Chase Esqre's collection of pictures painted in India by Mr. Daniell, Colonel Ward. Together with Lieut. James Hunter's views in the Kingdom of Mysore. The whole edited by, and engraved under the direction of Edward Orme.'; the second letterpress t.p. entitled: 'Picturesque scenery in the Kingdom of Mysore, from forty drawings, taken on the spot by James Hunter."
Includes appendix of 24 unnumbered plates with separate t.p.: 'Appendix containing descriptions of the twenty-four views in Hindostan, from Mr. Chase's celebrated collection of pictures, painted by Mr Daniell and Colonel Ward.' Plates in first section are numbered 2-41. Some plates in appendix section dated 1804 and 1805. Plates drawn by William Orme. Cf. Tooley.
Engraved copper plate added t.p. with hand coloured vignette and text parallel to spine. Engraved plates are hand-coloured aquatints.
