Notes:
The drawing is accompanied by a small envelope containing a lock of "Lucy's hair when she was 8." The envelope is addressed to Mrs. Wilson, Castle Lodge (probably Anne Wilson, 1838-1909).
The drawing reproduces the headstone of Lucy Hudson, with the tombstone inscription written in black ink. There are two notes at the foot of the drawing: (in graphite) "Limestone plinth & blue slate slab"; (in black ink) "Lucy's choice."
