- Each piece is carefully trimmed around the outline of the plant parts. Pieces are affixed to the herbarium sheet with adhesive and white thread (tied over plant stems).
"A series of prints made from hand cut etchings which are attached to herbarium sheets to create paper specimens with screenprinted labels. Various sizes and papers, thread."--Artist's website.
BAC: British Art Center copy is no. 2 of 10. Screenprinted label completed in graphite: "Title/no. [Buttercup 2/10]. Location [Temple Hall, East Lothian]. Date [19th May 2009]." Signed and dated (2009) by the artist on the reverse, in graphite.
The composition comprises four buttercup plants, of varying fullness, three of which bear flowers. At top right, enclosed within a small folded sheet, are the etched images of three detached buttercup petals. - Subject Terms:
